Regis and Kelly

Isn't this the cutest picture of him? I entered him and the baby in Live's Beautiful baby contest.
I know everyone thinks their babies are the cutest but come on these guys are adorable. We have been having so much fun with the kids home from school. I love having no schedule.
Have a great holiday!

So much to write, so little time.

Well I've been busy, well really sick but that kept me busy so it's the same thing right? Christmas is always a fun time with the kids. It's so great watching them get so excited about something as simple as new ribbon on the tree. Wow!
This gingerbread house is so cool! It's from my neighbor.
The bears are sledding and having a snowball fight. My boys thought it was so cool. They destroyed and ate the whole thing about five minutes later. It was awesome destruction!
Next is candy making day! Woo! lots
of fun. Those boys got so hopped up on sugar it was insane. My sis and I cooked everything too soft.
It still tasted good though as you can see. The boys didn't mind. Neither did sis and I.
This picture is of all the candy my son got from school. They sent him home with three bags! Can you say enough?
I think this picture sums up the whole holiday experience. Lots of fun! No stress at all!
This is my awesome uncle. The kids all think he is Santa. I think so too.
There isn't time to write or read all that happened this last week. I'm sure you all had your own great holiday with your own great stories so I will just wait till the next entry to share more fun stories. Merry Christmas!

Poor baby

My little one with allergies had his first bloody nose again since we started giving him allergy medicine. It probably happened because I forgot to give him his meds the day before. Oops! At least he's a good sport about it. He's happy no matter what (well, at least if he gets to play his x-box).
Does Christmas make anyone else go Ugh!!? It seems like we have plenty of money all year round until Christmas. Thats when it all goes away and hides until we get our tax return in Feb. I wonder where it all goes. I have a theory that all the dollars get togeather and take a vacation in Hawaii. Wouldn't you? Oh well. It does make us appreciate what we do get to give our kids and others for Christmas.
So, we've been eating less meat lately. Not no meat just less. I don't even notice now when a meal doesn't have meat in it. Last night we ate a yummy creamy cauliflower soup. It was so good. Perfect for a cold day. You just saute some onions in butter. Add flour and boil. Then add 2 cups of chicken broth. Boil till thick. Add 2 cups half and half and a little worshtershire sauce. Then add 1 bag of frozen cauliflower. Boil again then add 1 cup of cheese. Serve with more cheese on top and yum. If you have some good bread to go with it then more power to you. Sorry I don't measure. If you like it thicker add more flour at the beginning. It's that easy.
I hope your money doesn't go on vacation and that this season finds you happy and well.

Sick yet again!

My older son who is six has strep throat again!! How can that be? We have spent so much time lately sanitizing their hands when they come home and sanitizing the dishes and countertops. What else can I do? This is the third time that he has had strep in the last 2 months. My other boys have all had it twice except my oldest who doesn't live here most of the time. I just want to take them all out of school forever but I don't think I have the patience for homeschool. More power to all of you who do.

Last Satutday night was my husband's annual Christmas work party. We always have so much fun because my husband is a dance addict. He only gets his fix once a year so he makes the most of it. We are always the first ones on the floor and the last ones to leave. I get tired but it is a great workout! It is a lot of fun and we always get to go home with a centerpiece.

Well I better go get a big bowl of ice cream to make up for all the dancing this weekend. Hee Hee! Rasberry sherbet with chocolate sauce. Yummmm!

Don't talk on the phone ever!

Look at my crazy baby! He just wanted some cheese. He got out the biggest knife he could find(luckily it's not sharp at all). After cutting the first piece I guess he decided that cutting the cheese was more fun than eating it. Holy Cow! After that he took all the condiments out of the fridge and lined them up on the table. I guess that is better than slicing up the back of my beautiful armchair with haircutting scissiors, (talk me down sis, talk me down) or making chocolate pudding on my white rug (other children, other times). That's what having boys, and kids for that matter means. Always finding little treasures. Sometimes they're good. More often they make you go "How did you?... What?... Hello... Where was I?" Today, I was on the phone. Oh well. These are the stories they will ask me to tell them over and over again. "Did I really make chocolate pudding on the floor?" Yes, with a half gallon of milk! So today I took a picture and shared the moment with the world. It was a lot more fun than getting mad. Hope you smile today thinking of all the crazy things your kids have done. I know I did.

Mad Scientists

This is what happens when you give food to a little boy on a flowery dish. He refused to eat because he didn't like the plate. Of course he finally decided to eat anyway only after his time playing the x-box was threatened. Today I decided to be proactive instead of reactive. I went running with my husband. The deal was that I would run with him if he did Yoga with me. He is actually really good at it. I'm not so good at the running. I also did more Yoga. Yeah! Then I got out my 365 T.V. free activities book and started trying to find something for my boys to do. One suggestion was to pretend to make majic potions with water and food coloring. We had so much fun! It's co cute to watch how excited they were when two colors would make a completly new color. Who would have thought that such a simple thing could make them so happy.

My husband is the sweetest man in the whole world. He was summoned by my 2 year old to read him a bedtime story. He was very specific that he wanted daddy. Just look at that face! He loves his daddy. Yesterday I told him he looked like me and he started crying and said no! I said do you want to look like daddy and he said yeah. I Just love my boys.
Well good night. Make today and tomorrow great with the little things!

Winter Celebration Day!!!

So every year we have our anual winter celebration day. This is done as close to the day of the first snowfall every year. We, of course, decorate the house and put up the tree (Each kid has to have their own turn putting up the star, cute!)but we also watch White Christmas and drink caramel apple cider. The movie is more for my husband and I but my kids will run to the T.V. to watch the musical numbers. I'm sure they were like what are these adults doing singing and dancing in the middle of normal life. We don't have too many of those old musicals. I wish we did.

My middle child got the results back from his blood test. They were normal!!! What a relief. I can breathe again. He just has allergies. He has been taking an allergy medication and hasn't had a bloody nose in a week. That is amazing for him. I'm so glad to just have a little more peace of mind knowing we won't have to go through cancer right now.

I am proud to say that I am doing Yoga. I love it! I have found an excercise that I completely love. I feel strong and calm. It reduces so much stress in my life. Thank you to whoever came up with it. It's on BYU TV at 6 am (I tivo. I am not a morning yoga'er)and the lady who does it is amazing.

The Gluten free gal came over today. I want to tell her thanks for making the treck out to see me once and awhile. It makes me feel so great when she comes over. She is like a charger for my happiness battery. My husband always wonders why I can be grumpy one minute, talk to her on the phone, and instantly be in a better mood. She is just a big boost of joy and I thank her for who she is.

Well I better go back to being a mom (which means watching Oprah. again tivo). Smile!!! Just do it!

What is with this blogging stuff?

So my sister the gluten free lady told me that I have to do this so I started and it is actually fun! This is for you Girl!
I am the moving girl. My family, which consists of my husband and I and five boys ranging from 15 years to 8 months (yes I am the lone female in this family), have moved eight times in the past 7 years. The longest we have ever lived anywhere in one stretch is 2 years. The funny thing is that our house is for sale again so we will hopefully be moving again soon. That will make our total nine moves if we can sell our house in this economy.
Like most people we have been sick this season more than we ever have been before. All of us have had Strep throat and two of my sons have had it twice. A cold like none before it has also swept through our home giving my sons ear infections and bronchitis. My middle child had to get blood drawn because he has had so many bloody noses. They want to check his white and red blood cells. That scares me to death. We will find out the results on Monday.
My oldest son is actually my step son, although My husband and I got married when he was 7 so he doesn't remember life before we got married much. He lives with his mom and since he is 15 we see less and less of him. He had a basketball game today. Yeah!!! He is number 12. The other boys love to see him play (So do my husband and I).

My second son is 6 and is already wanting a job. He asks me all the time how can a six year old make money. He is full of questions at all times. I love giving him crazy answers.
My middle child is 5 and loves video games. He would play Leggo Star Wars all day if I let him. He is really good at it for being 5. He also loves to figure out how things work.
My next son is 2 and wants to be independant. He loves to climb up on the counter and steal chocolate chips. It really doesn't matter how many times he gets into trouble, he does it anyway. This is what happens while you are blogging.
Then my baby is eight months on the 9th. He is so cute he nods his head all the time and everyone in the family loves making him do it.

Well ,talking about my kids reminds me that I better go see what they are doing. I hope you had fun reading about my life. It's a lot more fun living it!
